Community Guidelines
Last updated: 1 September 2026
Nomsta exists to help people find great pop-up food and to help the vendors behind it get discovered. Reviews, photos, event boards, and messages only work if they reflect real experiences shared in good faith. These guidelines describe what we expect from everyone on Nomsta and what happens when content crosses the line. They apply everywhere on the Service - reviews, photos, community boards, direct messages, profiles, and listings - and they sit alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Keep it genuine
- Be yourself. Don't impersonate another person or brand, and don't misrepresent who you are or who you're affiliated with.
- Share your own content. Only post photos and words you have the right to share.
- No fake engagement. Don't buy, trade, or fabricate reviews, follows, votes, or interest.
2. Keep it respectful
- No harassment. Don't target, threaten, shame, or pile onto anyone - diners, vendors, or their staff.
- No hate speech. Attacks on people for who they are - race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or anything similar - are never allowed.
- Criticism is fine; abuse is not. You can say a pop-up wasn't worth the wait. You can't use slurs, wish harm, or attack a person rather than an experience.
3. Keep it relevant
- No spam. Don't flood boards, reviews, or messages with repeated, off-topic, or promotional content.
- Promote through the right tools. Vendors have listings, announcements, and their brand page for promotion - not other brands' pages, reviews, or unsolicited messages.
- Stay on topic. Community boards belong to the event they're attached to.
4. Reviews reflect real visits
- Write about your own firsthand experience, and keep it accurate.
- Don't review your own brand, a competitor's brand, or anywhere you have a stake, and don't post reviews in exchange for payment, discounts, or favors.
- Don't use reviews as leverage. Threatening a bad review to get something, or offering a good one for perks, breaks these guidelines in both directions.
5. For vendors
- Keep listings honest - real dates, real locations, real menus. Cancel or update events you can't honor.
- Don't solicit fake or incentivized reviews, and don't retaliate against honest ones. Responding to criticism is welcome; do it professionally.
- Only upload media you have the rights to, and only claim brands that are actually yours.
6. Keep it safe and legal
- Nothing illegal - content that promotes illegal activity has no place here.
- Protect privacy. Don't post anyone's personal information - addresses, phone numbers, private details - without their consent.
- No sexual content involving minors, no credible threats of violence, no content that endangers anyone. These are immediate, permanent removals.
Reporting and enforcement
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, use the Report action on the content or profile, or block the account. Reports are confidential - the person you report is not told who reported them.
When content is reported, our team reviews it against these guidelines. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, issue a warning, or suspend or remove accounts and brands - and for serious violations we may do so on the first offense, as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe we got it wrong, contact us through our contact page and we'll take another look.
Changes to these guidelines
As Nomsta grows, these guidelines will evolve. When we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page. Questions? Reach us through our contact page or at [email protected].
